I mean, you're not uploading images that are going to be on gigantic posters. Most of the pictures on ebay will be compressed so they're pretty small anyway. I'd try opening the aperture up a bit more and seeing how things look. Are you picking the one you have for depth of field issues? I.e. too little area of focus with a smaller aperture?
Yes... either too dark or too small a depth of field. Only way to compensate is brighter lights or increasing the iso (or slower shutter speed which is no good). Figured brighter lights was the easy thing and going to flash would be a benefit???

If you can afford strobes then go for it as it would likely solve half your problem. The other half is inadequate lighting

Quote: Open up a resized Ebay ready image and see if you spot graininess. If not then your iso is fine otherwise you will need to reduce it. Your f stop and shutter speed is pretty much on point so there not much else left except for increasing bulbs.

I use flash because I don't have the space for lights. Especially lights with large soft boxes. The lighting I use is 5k bulbs x4 in an overhead ceiling fan unit, mixed with my shoe mount flash unit (SB600) atop my camera. It works great IMO for about 80% of the shots. I do find certain pictures that should have more light. And I am thinking of somehow adding a few more to my room, with normal 5k bulbs. But the light fixtures that I want to use are something small. Almost like a industrial lamp, that I can just put some 5k bulbs into and move around the room to light my background some more.

If anyone can recommend a small bulb unit that I can buy at a hardware store that would be great.

Confused sorry. What 1/2 of the problem would strobes solve if the other half is inadequate lighting?? I thought 100% of the problem is not enough light which leads to all the other issues?

hotness. Constant light in on mode makes the room hot.

Was in the middle of a 40 package run and couldn't stop. Had to fix it and move on.

Damn, Wes. Hope you feel better soon. Out of curiosity, how did it happen? Wondering if there's some stage of shipping I should start being paranoid about.

From the seated position (wheeled office chair), surrounded by packages, I over-extended to grab a 6 lb international package containing a vintage 1944 US Navy Peacoat that I sold over the weekend for $300. The package was just a little to wide for a one handed grasp, and as I shifted to change to a package slide tactic instead of the ineffective package grab maneuver, the chair toppled.

Aint no way was a 44 peacoat no 6 lbs.
