I have this same jacket and considered having the buttons replaced. I decided to keep them and I am glad I did, but I may change my mind later. I also have the 3 button sb jacket and decided to keep the gold and white buttons but may change them later.

^^ agreed.

every time i see a guy wearing a blue suit coat (or even a well tailored blue sportcoat) with khakis/grey wool trousers, i cringe a bit.

this topic is like "lens for camera - or not?" In order for something to be a camera, it's gotta have lens.

^ agreed. I shopped around for a bit and ended up going with BB because of the service they offered and the jacket fit well. Originally I went with the three button with pewter buttons but decided it didn't give the jacket any life.

despite my initial feeling that I may look old, I felt that I could make the gold buttons work for a young/fresh look. I may shop around for shiny silver buttons in case I want to switch it up a bit.

I prefer the silver ones on winter blazers. Better patina, not so visible like brass or gold plated. Summer - MOP or horn (different shades natural) so you do not look like you had lost your pants. My 2 euro cents.

Now john, can we just relax and not take it so personaly, and get back to topic.

I wasn't taking it personally. Of course fashion choices are individual but you introduced the topic and made, if I may say so, something of an absurd overstatement. The fact is many people like db and look very good in it.

My point exactly. One always ends up coming back to the brass buttons because they look the best.

I had been looking for a jacket for months and settled on both BF jackets because of BB's service and success with prior alterations on jackets. They didn't disappoint me. The jackets fit and look great, even with the gold buttons.
