What the Chinese man said...that is what you get from the standard sources these days. A bit thinner than the standard horn in the same size.

In contrast, I had the insipid plastic buttons in Borrelli Linosa below replaced with pre-WWII MoP buttons...those are substantially thicker.

I assume that buttons of such quality can be sourced today still, but you might have to get them made up specially.

One advantage of swappable buttons is that if I find a set that I prefer, it is simple to add them to the rotation.

Thank you for inline quoting it. Actually, I forgot that I had a closeup of the old MoP buttons:

The contemporary ones that I've seen are thinner.

Thank you. I've quite sensitive to the 'issue' (really only to me perhaps) of MOP buttons feeling 'insubstantial'. Thin MOP buttons bug me somehow - reminding me somewhat of the buttons my grandmother had on her cardigans - broad, thin, and decidedly delicate feeling. I have amassed a morass of MOP suit buttons (45+ I think) and I have still never really come across one that I am completely pleased with. My current fave is a 3.9mm(!!!) thick smoke MOP one, but it is a 'plain' 'flat front' button, and lacks the 'raised circumference' design that I quite like. I suppose a case can be made for a hybrid MOP/plastic 'sandwich' button, or a superlative plastic job in this instance. For me at least. Anyhow, enough rambling from me. Manton's blazersuit looks quite nice to me, with the lapels reminding me somewhat of the suit Michael Caine wore in Get Carter. Somehow though, the material texture/colour whispers 'orphan suit jacket' to me. At least on my monitor. Anyone else get this vibe?

I'll do it for this one, too, just to balance things out. PS Manton, these BlazerSuits are very, very nice.

I don't know how thick the buttons are, but they feel fine to me.

I have to guess the weight of that linen, but I would say it is about 11 ounces. I am wearing the suit today, in a place where the high is supposed to be 83, so this is a good test of it.

Are you going over to the dark side?

When you think of this as a DB BlazerSuit, are you thinking patch outpockets?

I knew I could count on at least one of you!
