Marchisio red deserved. Only the most ardent Italy supporter would disagree.

Suarez going batshit crazy again, as expected.

But who would've called this group to fall the way it did?:puzzled:

Which of these does that play match best?

1. “Careless” means that the player has shown a lack of attention or
consideration when making a challenge or that he acted without precaution.

2. “Reckless” means that the player has acted with complete disregard to the
danger to, or consequences for, his opponent.

3. “Using excessive force” means that the player has far exceeded the necessary
use of force and is in danger of injuring his opponent.

Being bitten is definitely 100x worse then being cleated. its way more agressive.

I'd give a yellow for the cleat because he was doing a spin move and he needed to plant that foot where the defender stuck his leg. If you watch him do it it looks like a yellow/red, but watching the dribbling and the approach its definitely a yellow. I find that there is no room to argue your case in situations where you should be able to.

That wasn't a clear anything, but I think all four refs being from concacaf had A LOT to do with that call.

The worst part of the whole biting incident is the predictably trite memes emerging on my Facebook feed.

'Studs up' isn't a hard and fast rule, especially in this case since it wasn't even a tackle and it refers to having the foot at a MUCH higher angle than Marchisio did. Players step on each other all the time. Stop repeating the 'studs up' stuff, because it's nonsense.

'It should have never have been a red card' says Martinez right now.
