Greg can you give some ideas on how to use the steamer bag? It looks deep and narrow. How do you pack it? Most bags today are shallow and wide. Thanks.

Really no different than a traditional knapsack/ backpack - lighter essentials on top, heavy items on the bottom.

I ask because I like the look but I'm trying to figure out if I can use it for an upcoming trip where I have lug a black tie rig across the Atlantic. I don't think I can fit folded shirts but would be ok for sweaters and etc. I've been thinking about it for a few days and I think it's hard for me to visualize what I can do with the bag without handling it first.

Lugging a black tie rig is a PITA. I have done it twice in the past 12 months with a garment bag and didn't like it. I'm looking for an alternative.

Is it water resistance?

Such an awesome coat - certainly on my wish list! I think Greg touched on it in an earlier post that they're more water repellant than water resistant - fine for a light sprinkle or some snow.

poorsod - that bag is very cool but certainly not the most practical. The whole opening and closing with the straps and lock takes a bit of time. I am not sure I would use it to travel with a suit (or even less for black tie). As PSG mentioned, it packs like a backpack in one tall stack.
