Mine always feel snuggest in the morning too.

Ok, here is a crazy story...

After seeing a few shots of MrDV, J Crew Snuff suede #8 saddle shoe I have been mildly obsessed with the shoe. This morning I was on the J Crew site for a different reason and on a whim just decided to call and see if there were any open orders to remake the shoe. The SA was really nice and let me know unfortunately there were no open orders for that item.
As I was thanking her for checking for me, all of the sudden she was like "you don't happen to be a size 8, do you?"

I was like "Yes! I am. Why?"
she was like "Well, we happen to show one single pair of these in stock and they are a size 8."
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I immediately began the checkout process excited as could be. Even though my order went through and i have received the confirmation email I am staying cautiously optimistic until I actually get a shipping confirmation.

I figured this thread was the only place that could relate to my over the top exuberance icon_gu_b_slayer%5B1%5D.gif

Awesome. Enjoy, and post pics when you get them.

The same thing more or less happened with my #8 Leffot tankers. I didn't do the pre-order, but inquired just in case, and the only pair they had just happened to be my size. I'm wearing them today.

EDIT: I should add that MrDV's collection, which has a fair number of saddles, has made me consider the #8 monochromatic saddle.

The latter is certainly sleeker and dressier, but I don't think it looks quite as neat as the former. Thoughts?

plaza last boot.

Plaza last is more elegant and just as, if not more, versatile.  You can dress casually with both boots you mention, but only the plaza-last boot will go with slacks/blazer, or even suit as well.

All of my shells, with the exception of my LHS's, are snug first step out of the door. Then again they're made from horse leather not Italian kid. When its possible I still like to try on new shoes late in the day. That was my grandmothers advice.

Seems like a great versatile shoe for light grey suits or casual wear.

Thanks in advanced!

The Shoe Mart has a make up of perforated captoe bluchers in snuff suede.

Also, Ben Silver stocks this same perforated captoe blucher in both snuff suede and tan suede.  Great looking shoes.

My apologies, stylenoob718, in my last two posts I described the shoes to which I was referring as bluchers.  I misspoke.  The shoes to which I was referring that are offered by the Showmart and Ben Silver are oxfords and would seem to be just what you are looking for.  Good luck.

Freaking awesome.
I love it when that happens. What are the chances they have 1 pair left? In your size?
This has been a very "unicorn" week for alden fans.
1. #4 chukka a on eBay
2. Cigar 6 eyelet on eBay
3. The jcrew saddles may not be grail for most, but I LOVE mine.
4. Leffot tankers

Nice find

I don't have #8 ptb, my #8 saddles fill that gap.
I'm sure you'd be happy if you get them .

My aldens only feel snug if I change to another pair in the evening. My feet feel a bit swollen after I've worn a pair for a long time, been barefoot for a while, and then put on a different pair.

This has been my experience as well. I've heard it's because the cordovan 'warms up' and conforms to your foot as it's worn. On heavy walking days, I've found my shoes to fit a bit more snug again by then end of the day. But that's only when I'm doing a lot of walking.

I know! It was totally random that I even called and then for them to have one pair and it be my size, CRAZY! I will feel better once they ship though...

Completely agree on this week and more-so for me in particular.

1. I am currently the high bidder on these, but still a lot of time left

2. N/A (but grail makeup for my tastes)

3. Huge score for me

4. Will be in NYC tomorrow and plan to try these on and likely own

I actually got the Leffot Tankers back in February, but it was nevertheless a similar experience to rydenfan's.

Yeah, I'm on the Alden NY ravello PTB order, and was thinking a #8 saddle might fill my desire for a #8 PTB while adding a little variety. We'll see.
