I enjoy the hint of olive in some of the older cigar. Are these LWBs a few years old Uncle? The dark brown welt and edge also give it a distinctive look, in contrast to the antique edge. Wear in great health my friend...

I'd be interested in all the #4 models that have been produced. I know of the following.
Captoe Boot - TSM
Wingtip Boot - TSM
Atom - Leffot
4x4 - LS
Saddle - LS
LHS - The Lakota House
Tanker Boot - The Lakota House
NST - The Lakota House

There was a also a guy that posted some pics of a #4 Indy (with white stitching) but they have since been deleted. Not sure where those were from.

Does anybody know of any more?

I have a color 4 PTB - vintage Hanover. I bought it NOS on ebay a couple of years ago for a song. It was a classic case of a seller who knew not what he had. Based on my research and some emails with Horween, it was most likely made in the late 1970's. Built like a tank, double leather sole.

For exotics, I prefer cigar and ravello over color 4. Color 4 is quite red. But it is unique.

While color 4 is produced less often than the others, and is therefore more rare, it is generally not considered the most difficult to produce - in terms of quality hides that are needed. That award goes to the much lighter whiskey.

I've never seen that style of printing on the insole of any pair (The Alden Shop, San Francisco, all spelled out) and I didn't believe Alden/Horween stamps "Genuine Shell Cordovan" on the soles. Can anyone comment? Seems just a hair off.

I could, of course, be wrong and they be a fantastic deal.

I own various pairs from Alden SF that have that wording on the heel pad. And Alden does use the said stamp on its outsoles.

They may not always stamp "genuine shell cordovan" but I have a pair that has it. Alden for J Crew #8 longwings, unknown year.

That is one tough looking Indy boot, I'm liking it a lot. Are you a big trubalance last fan yet? Do you or anyone else here know if the stitching on the Innsbruck boot is done by hand or machine? BTW, congratulations shouldaville. Nice score!

Thanks...the last is perfect for this boot down a half size. Still plenty of room for a thicker sock in the winter. The deep coloring and sheen of the leather is almost like the bliss of staring into Color 8...very well done.
