Where are these from? I'm looking for a Wingtip boot like this.

Anybody know the widest width of the Grant Last? Unfortunately I'm probably have to buy them completely blind as I'm sure, if they did make them in my width, they would certainly not come standard.

just really disappointed. no flames please, i am a newbie here but, not to Alden. i haven't purchased in years but needed a pair. i special ordered a pair of 405 new INDYS, they came today, they were old stock with cotton lining, with significant damage to the inside of the tongue almost like a burn mark. almost seemed used inside but not outside? they came straight to me from Alden. waiting to now hear back on a quick exchange.

Arizor, So do you think that the the on Shoemart using the Gant last is the closest I can find to yours? Thanks again for pointing out that the Barrie is a bit bulkier than other lasts...would prefer to keep this on the dressier side. Thanks again for your input! http://www.theshoemart.com/alden-men..._cordovan.html

I just got the calf skin wing tip boots tonight. To me, the Barrie last feels a bit looser than TruBalance. I think I'm addicted to Alden now.

Unfortunately yes. Tom's version is the most dressiest of all out there due to its close heel, i.e. 270 degree welt, and blind eyelets both of which goes well with the dressier captoe style IMO, though they still go well with jeans. Shoemart's boots are the closest for the time being. You may consider shermanbrothers's boots, adding commando sole to the shoemart's boots for 60 dollars more. There was a recent 10% Labor Day sale for all shoes including Alden so perhaps they may grant you the same discount. http://www.shermanbrothers.com/produ...roductId=15323 Also note the difference between the Grant and Barrie lasts: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread...us#post1704964 If you ever consider calfskin and are looking for a dark color you may consider Leather Sole's grant captoe flex boots, which are basically the calfskin version of shoemart's boots but with a different type of sole. http://www.leathersoulhawaii.com/201...toe-flex-boot/ If you ever consider Barrie last, Winn Perry's below boots have close heels and double waterlock soles, which are better and more comfortable than double leather soles in my opinion: http://winnperry.com/updates/alden-winn-perry-rd3/

That's a lot closer to my boot mate. But also take into account all of what mg428 said.

I just picked up a pair of Aldens at a local consignment shop. They are a Sherman Brothers exclusive, black perf-cap blucher. The Heel is imprinted with the Foot Balance logo so I assume they are on the Trubalance last, but the soul seems a little curvy to me so they could be the modified last, can anyone confirm this? These were in 9 EE (I am a 9.5 E so these fit well with casual socks). There was another nearly identical pair in 9.5 EE, but these were not labeled Alden or Sherman Bros, only sporting the Foot Balance logo on the heal. It looks like the owner tried to get two sizes of the same shoe to fit well and did not succeed. Does anyone know anything about these shoes?

Here is a link to an Image Gallery

Well here are the pictures of my new Alden Indy boots in Natural Chromexcel. As I posted before, after only a few days I scraped up the front of one boot by kneeling on some pavement =(. So this is the best cleanup job I could do on it without darkening that area and making it stand out more. If anyone has any ideas on a better "fix" please let me know.

And here are pictures of the rubber heel. They look nothing like the rubber heel on my other Indy boot (in black), and nothing like any of the other Indy boot heels I have seen online (has no nails, no writing, etc). Can someone identify this heel for me, or is this a new heel Alden is using?

The boots look great, but I have to say the heel looks terrible. Is it possible it's an in-store repair?
