Being short makes pretty much all denim run quite long on me. I frequent the tailor.

Alot of the jeans have rather long inseams so that people can basically do whatever they want. It allows for people to cuff without decreasing length (visually), allows those who like stacks of bunched up jeans over their shoes to do that, allows for shrinkage if they are raw, and also allows for those that wish to, to hem them up to their desired length.

Personally I don't like my jeans to be hanging all on the ground or bunched up over my shoes, so I hem or cuff them. But the long inseams that come on alot of raw denims allow for those to suit their tastes.

always recommended to wash/soak your jeans inside out.

I have a pair of APC jeans that are stretched out, but they still look brand new. I have been wearing them for about a year and have not washed them yet. But I have not been wearing them consistently. I l've in in LA and go almost the whole summer without wearing jeans.

so my question, does consistency matter when breaking in a pair of jeans? do i need to wear them everyday for a set period before I first wash them? I have a pair of nau loose but not slutty and I washed them in a front loader (less agitation) with no soap and they look pretty much the same, maybe a little softer.

This whole not washing jeans is new to me. So is the "go to the beach, grind it in sand, rinse in salt water" or dry cleaning. any help in the best way to care for my APC would be appreciated.

thanks!

No to both. APC denim is made to yield nice contrast fades if you delay the first wash long enough... say, >6 months of daily wear or equivalent... which sounds like more than what you've put into them.

But if hygiene is more important than fades to you, wash away. Your call.

where can I get a chainstich hem in NYC?

I believe BiG has a machine but I didn't purchase my jeans from there so I'm not sure how they would react to that request.

thanks
