I consider the weird creasing as part of the character and charm of the Freiburg. It's a great casual / beater shoe which is comfortable and unique.
I did not like the look of the edge and back of the shoe, how the leather is much lighter. A touch of merlot polish fixed that easy enough.

So I rolled the dice on a pair of Freiburg seconds. . .knowing that their were quality control issues with them anyway. They were about $100 and it's obvious (in so many ways) why they were seconds. Excess WEIRD creasing on one of the toe boxes (excess on both, but only weird on one), wrinkles, really worn looking backs. I'm about 50/50 on whether or not I should keep them. The fit is damn near perfect. SO comfortable. I've been thinking about keeping them for that reason alone. The back will never be seen when worn. The only thing i'm not sure whether or not it will bother me is the excess weird creasing. Anyone keep a pair that was this bad and like it? Thoughts? Opinions? Guess i'm just looking to be pushed off the fence one way or the other. I'm really just floating in the middle!

Walnut First Aves and tan slacks today. It's crazy how stiff the uppers are on these compared to my brown grain version. I NEVER have issues of vamps being too tight, but actually feel it (not painful, but definitely apparent) on the top of my arch when I walk. Makes me wonder if they were pulled a little tight during manufacturing?

Color has shifted from a very pale walnut, to a little richer cognac color. Next time I polish shoes, these are getting another dose of navy on the toe and counter.

Where did you get the laces for them. Those look sharp! Just because of your post I bought a pair to try :) The are very comfy but the sides sticks out on the right foot. It won't stay down.

This is one of my recent discoveries regarding scotch/bourbon/whisky. Very good Japanese whisky. Not that this is a drinking thread, but yay Friday!

I've been trying to find some Japanese single malts as I've heard they are tremendous. Happy Friday, indeed!

Speaking of drinking...

Long story very short, last night was an adventure. I woke up this morning to discover some road rash on my new strands:

After brushing them off, the surface is smooth- it doesn't feel like I actually broke the leather. Just polish these and call it a day, or should I do anything more in depth?

I really like the look of PTB with jeans - Black Leeds 2.0.
I wish I could afford the Shell Cordovan Leeds that are out there on ShoeBank....
