just seeing this thread now. has there been a price range announced? Same as rubinacci?

It's about $3,700 for a suit. I'm hoping to organize a visit for him in San Francisco, but the details have yet to be ironed out.

Price may change depending on travel costs and what not, but that's the ballpark price.

Well, it would be strange if he'd drastically change the style or fit or at least the same "feeling" of a Rubinacci he made last year, all of a sudden. I know you've had some issues with certain tailors and their reliability or didn't like the chemistry anymore, whatever. But the main focus here is, can or would he cut a suit of similar quality for a lesser price? I don't see how he couldn't. He knows he will attract people that like the style of Rubinacci and at least a handful ex Rubinacci customers would be happy to make a switch if this would be the case. Why pay more, some may think.
Come on, let's have a bit of logical thinking here. Chemistry is personal by the way. It's the same reason many people had garments made by Napoli Su Misura. If he would be as reliable, he will have a great business. I understand why his previous employers are a bit upset, maybe, because of this as they employed some of the finest of tailors in the region, obviously.

He probably will and should find his own style. I think what I do has similarities to Richard James and Gieves because that's my background but I think I deffinately have my own style. Would suck for everyone if he was just making a Rubinacci product at a lower price.

Well, if he produces at least the same quality and fit, he will make a fortune, when travelling to Japan. No doubt.
It's a bit of a loss for Rubinacci ofcourse he's learned the company's secrets, so to say, and he used to be a main cutter. But Foo is acting a bit like brand-whore here. Maybe loss of "exclusivity", is an issue. It's a serious passion for many tailors to have their own label one day, so Mr. Paone is just living his dream

I bet Mariano and Luca cringe when they hear his voice on the other end of the phone. Probably the same when they get an email.

This is clearly what the forum would like to believe. Maybe you can do some introspection and consider why that might be.

No princess, this is what the forum knows. You should hear what the folks at BG men have to say when they see you coming. I had the rare opportunity to see you in action, your royal highness.

dieworkwear is (naturally) correct, but it's worth pointing out that most Neapolitan tailors, incl. Paone,. quote their prices exclusive of cloth. So, $3,700 is the CMT price.

Still a solid deal.

I would suggest it is more accurate to say that in every threak that Foo posts inevitably becomes about Foo.

Rob

Correction: the same people inevitably make every threak that Foo posts in about Foo.

Clarification: Foo gets mad when his cutter goes out on his own and now a lot more iGents have access to Foo's tailor and can thus look like :foo: for a fraction of the :foo:

Just fyi, @mafoofan

I was also taken aback by your use of the term "*******."
You may be unaware, but many consider it a racial pejorative.

What should his punishment be? Banishment or hanging?

Also, I have new interpretations of numerous terms that aren't consistent with their original meanings, but I expect and demand everyone--beginning with you--to follow my new script to the letter. If you don't, you are a Bad Person and my new PC cadre will get you.

What happened . . .

I really enjoy my friendship with Jon. 99.99% of my bespoke clothes are by him.

shape of the chest pocket

It is the tailor's signature.

Perhaps the writer is one of yours?

@mmkn where in Sicily did you go?

Tailor is Sicilian, but he refers to his tailoring as Milanese. Emigrated to North America in the 70s.

mmkn, did you have the sport coat?.

Nope. The silhouette is the tailor's, the lapels are client's request. Still very flexible (or mature) for a man who will be 79 this month.

Well, you certainly took the opportunity to jump to his rescue for no reason.
I think history has shown he is a big enough boy, who can speak for himself when necessary.

I didn't say or imply he needed to be punished.
I was merely pointing out the broader/offensive interpretation of a term he was flippantly using.
It is knowledge I would want to be privy to, were I in his position.

all that other nonsense about a PC-cadre is just...*eye-roll* worthy, and indicative of other issues I'd rather not debate here.

Any idea on what you plan to commission if he ventures west? Purple tweed jacket would be awesome!!!!
