I do wish they shortened the length and made the curved hem not so high up, even if it was just a inch or so.

most shirts I've had I've got my wife to stitch the curve by an inch , and shorten my shirt by maybe 2" ..
only Gitman Vintage seems to be spot on for me ..

I agree the shoulders and pit is pretty good, but the length everywhere else is drappy. I understand that its more of a relaxed fit but I'm not that tall, so the shirt does look quite big overall. I'm curiously about the XS fit, but can't find anywhere with one that has a refund policy if it doesn't work out. Bummers because the fabric and quality is so on point.

Shoulders and pit to pit looks good, not enough to size down imo. That fit looks very much like how the SS12 workshirts in medium fits me. Good in the shoulders and armpits, a bit long in the sleeves and body/length. If you're satisfied in general but uncomfortable with the length you could just have the length shortened a bit by your tailor.

Sometimes they tighten up a little after a wash, this may depend on the fabric, but they don't shrink, unless you tumble dry, which you should be very carefull with, rather not do at all. I accidentally tumble dried a miner shirt for about 2 hours and it shrunk a full size and got t-rex arms.

I wouldnt say the cpo falls into the same ill fitting category as the workshirt/19th/miner/etc shirts, other than side hem height for some, the cpo fits good for a shirt/jacket piece, and ime the regular shirts are a whole different beast

other than a couple short sleeved ones, every shirt I've tried is either too long body, too long sleeves, too short sleeves, too high side hem, too wide/billowy sleeve or some klusterfucked combo of the aforementioned ills

what is also true is that the shirts "ill" fit looks really good on other folks, so I can see, and respect, many being happy with them, just not for me, a small fits me long and boxy and xs just looks ill fitting and many times sleeve is too short, both beyond tailoring really

still keep trying a couple every fw season, some day maybe...

EG's shirts are weirdly cut – completely agree. They're definitely their own thing and not something that necessarily complements a lot of other non-Nepenthes stuff. It's like Daiki implements elements into the designs to force you to wear it the way he envisions it – sizing down to get a less relaxed fit jacks up the curved hem up past your belt line, etc. If you're into it fitting the way it's cut, though, it's wonderful – but definitely unlike a lot of what gets worn on the forum.

yeah sadly I'm just too short to rock the relaxed + boxy tops (they just make me look shorter)

EG sizing is just all kinds of strange to me, which is unfortunate as I love the brand aesthetically. I'm 5'6" with a 27.5" waist, but a 41.5" chest measurement in any position that flexes my back. As a result, their blazer style jackets don't fit me at all; if I size up enough for the chest then it's hanging past my butt and over my wrists. Strangely, an XS shirt fits me looking somewhat tailored, but not restricting movement at all.

I'd love to try some of their more outdoorsy looking jackets, but I'm worried about similar sizing issues. For a brand known for "anti-fit" clothing, it's surprising that I find most things too tight, but I guess it's just not meant for my body type at this height.

The way I see EG is that they don't want it to be perfect, they embrace the imperfections. They want it relaxed, cosy and casual.

I have no problems with EG shirt sizing though I'm sure that I'm one of the few who tuck them in and wear pants with a normal rise. As with all RTW shirts though, ymmv.

I agree and that's why I love the EG shirts I have. However, the jackets don't look relaxed on me, but rather like I borrowed my dad's suit for the winter formal.
A 35" chest measurement on a small is pretty nuts especially considering that a small in the pants is a 30" waist.

Edit: That measurement was on a whipcord Bedford. I ordered an Andover that season as well and while it was larger, it was still too tight to reliably wear without worrying about the armpits splitting.

What's strange is the lack of consistency; an x-small shirt, something generally worn without layers, having a larger chest measurement than a wool blazer a size up makes little sense.

yep. esp. the high gussets on 19c shirts, just deal with it. put on an undershirt

Does anyone know of a reliable proxy service for FWK in Japan, tried to order a few things but it's sold out in NY.

When I try and tuck in a 19th Century, the back is a joke. It's enormous. The only way it's passable is with a jacket. Which shirt styles are you talking about tucking?

Yes, I noticed that, but they still f don't have what I'm looking for. Looking for a Chauncey in polka dot, and the matching flower accessory pin, and a khaki ghurka shorts. If anyone comes across one in size 0 or 1, I'd really appreciate it.
