What to do in NYC

I'm getting there Friday morning early, and leaving sunday late. I've been once before and did a lot of toursity stuff. My wife goes there all the time, but I don't want her to have to be coming up with all the activities. We're staying in the upper east side near lexington and 73rd. I'm thinking we may go shopping, see some shows, run in the park, and eat at her favorite places.

I just realized that I haven't posted before. I admit, i'm a lurker, but I'd like to hear y'alls input.

Hit some really cool bars/lounges/clubs if you're into that sort of thing NYC has some amazing venues to check out. I mean what exactly do you want to do/what time of the day are you really looking for things to do? Central park is awesome on a nice day, go have a picknick or something. There are tons of interesting bars, faux-speakeasies, rooftop lounges, etc that are relaxed and enjoyable times. If you like burgers check out shakeshack at one of its locations or burger joint in the parker meridien. There's 5th ave and soho, etc for shopping, not to mention Williamsburg for an interesting atmosphere and a lot of indy shops and thrifts. I guess what I am getting at is your question is, um, broad. Very broad. It's also "halloween weekend," so there will be all sorts of madness taking over the city this weekend.

NYC is a big place with tons of options. It would help if you asked for specifics and gave us a sense of your preferences. Such as dinning, bars or shopping suggestions in specific parts of town.

Definitely this. There is just about anything you can imagine here, need some specifics.

I've got reservations for a late brunch at Balthazars on saturday. we're trying to get tickets to the book of mormon too. My other plans are to run central park and find time to check out the Cooper Hewitt design museum. The burger shack is a good suggestion. I was trying to get to that place last time I went, but didn't have time. This trip, i'm only there 3 days, but have lots of time since i'm not really planning anything.

My wife goes up there about twice a year for shopping. Though, this will be her 6th trip up there this year and probably not her last.

I'm into architecture, food, clothes, and drinking. Since the wife is pregnant, we can't hit too many crazy bars and stay out like we normally would.

Anybody got the lowdown on horse-drawn carriage through central parK? I'll be up there right around christmas. Also was thinking of going to either asiate or dovetail for the romantic dinner portion of my trip. Good/bad ideas?

How about hitting MOMA Friday evening? 4-8pm it is free, then head down to the Village and try Raoul's

As expensive and as corny as the horse draw carriage is, I have to admit that it is still "special". There is something very charming about taking a spin around the park in one in the spring or at Christmastime.

Yea, obviously more for the lady.

So, our weekend was pretty awesome. We ate at Balthazars and found some other cool restaurants near where we were staying on the upper east side. We go stuck there during sandy for an extra 5 days. I went to Pastuers Pharmacy on Lexington and bought some good shave stuffs.

I checked out the RL store and Bergdorfs. I also got some casual stuff from H&M. Stuff there fits me well.

Next time check out the meat packing district for some night life. And Buffalo Exchange is a favorite for me to check out in East Village.

also, next time don't forget to check out guy's american kitchen and bar in times square.
