Unbranded Denim-- soak to decrease length?

I'm planning to buy a pair of Unbranded jeans tomorrow. Apparently, all of their denim comes in size 34 length regardless of the waist size. I'm not a fan of stacking so I wanted to find out the best way to decrease the length? Will soaking work? And if so, how many inches are the jeans likely to shrink in length? Would it be better to hem? Anyone have experience doing either on of these with Unbranded? Thanks

Um...there's a thread on here specifically for unbranded denim. There's also a jean questions thread and a stupid questions thread. Anyways they're sanforized so I'd say if you want them shortened more than an inch give them a soak, see, then take them to a tailor. From the Unbranded thread I saw people say about an inch or so of inseam shrinkage. YMMV.

Soaking won't do you anything to shrink the inseam. Best thing to do is get it hemmed.
I got my jeans hemmed and tapered.

Getting them hemmed at the $5-10 price will lose your chainstitch. You'll be stuck with a standard stitch at the cuff. If you want to get a chainstitch hem, go to SelfEdge or someone that could do it for you. It'll prob cost 2x-3x as much as a regular hem though, plus the additional driving/shipping to the store.

No roping: http://www.rawrdenim.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/ChainStitching.jpg

Other than that, you don't lose much. Mine had a bit of roping since I wore them for a bit. Not a huge bother for me not having roping.
