No, but if you see a black guy working in Sportswear, tell him he's a doosh.

I find Neiman's customer service/sales help to be quite lacking especially in relation to their sister store, Bergdorf. Interestingly enough, the Neiman Last Call outlets have very helpful salespeople. Bergdorf, for me, is the luxury store standard bearer, at least here in the NY/NJ area, when it comes to the sales people.

Neiman's, for me at least, has the consistently worst CS in comparison to stores I've been to or frequent (Saks, Bergdorf, Nordstrom, Bloomies, boutiques..)

I'm really not sure as to why that is, but it's irritating. I went in with the intent to size a Loro Piana Roadster Pull that I'm getting as a Christmas gift. I suppose I shouldn't have been honest, in retrospect. Needless to say, the guy was abrasive, and silently present when his presence was definitely not desired. Then, as I'm leaving, I ask if he can order or acquire a particular color of the sweater since they did not have them in that particular location. He says "no" shortly, I say "whatever" and walk off. I call NM in Chevy Chase; "Oh sure, we can do a store locator - there are 11 in the company.. etc." I decided to have her order from the Loro Piana boutique instead.

NM ? Don't even get me started

Here's what you do to get a hand @ Boston NM men's dept.

1. Bring along a ladder
2. Have a bullhorn with a set of fresh batteries
3. Wear an easy-to-spot tall hat ( preferably in Bee Yellow or Scarlet )
4. Place ladder in the middle of the floor
5.Climb the ladder
6. Proceed to shout into bullhorn : CAN I GET SOME F*CKING HELP AROUND HERE ?!?!
7. Watch ( if anything ) happens

Last time I asked the guy @ their otherwise pathetic shoe dept. if they could order for me VASS shoes, I got the sorta stare as though my hair was on fire

.

P.S. My source for MB ties ( whose patterns I totally dig ) is LB. And I guess they have some kind of super duper going on with Massimo which allows them to carry exclusive ties

An absolute threadjack I suppose but an interesting true story nonetheless.

My uncle and 3 friends bought a farm from a fella named Tyson in N. Virginia sometime in the late 50's early 60's. I suppose it was 58 or 59 (as he had a Cadillac Eldorado Convertible with the fins at the time).

They planned on developing it starting with a shopping center. It is now called Tyson's Corner.

Now to the really sad part. My uncle decided to retire soon thereafter and move to rural Va and traded his 25% of Tyson's Farm for a large horse farm in the middle of nowhere.

My uncle died broke some 35 years later.

I do like M.B. ties. A local store carries a decent selection, and over the summer they had a nice sidewalk sale where they were priced at half off or so.

What would you compare the quality to? Obviously not Kiton, but to me they seemed to be on par with Drakes and Stefano Ricci. Cool patterns, for sure.
