NYR - Like the trous. Howard Yount?

I don't think the sweater's fit is it's main problem here - but would a darker color sweater look better? The light top/dark bottom combo seems to sorta chop you in half.

In the first shot with the SC it all comes together swell - I think it's because of the color in the SC.

digmenow you must live alone...

At first, I thought maybe you just hated the tie or something...

Tell me that last pic is not creepy as hell. Very strange folks around here...

...but then I realized it was something worse. My originally planned response to your question involved the phrase, "yo mama" along with heavy inference of perverse sexual dominance of the same but ultimately decided against it because:
A. There's so many junior moderators running around this joint, I didn't want to risk poking one in the eye.
B. I don't really have the time or energy for a flame war.
C. It's just the internetz.
D; That's how I roll.
E. All of the above.

I'll concede the hair. It was still early and it takes a couple of hours for it to settle into something more presentable.

The face is another story. It's standard issue euromutt with an dominant Italianate gene and came with the rest of the package. I find your fearfulness unmanly and guffaw at your Protozoan neckwear.

Indeed, very strange folks.

Meanwhile,

wow it actually got really cold in LA today all of a sudden
went with the trusty blue tweed jacket + navy wool pants + navy knit tie + blue/white gingham ps
rps20111104_105501.jpg

was a little unsure about the white french cuff shirt since i remember others commenting about tweed + FC being out of place
but it was the last ironed white shirt i had available

Good looking navy suit with French-cuffed white shirt. Sharp business dressing. You must have sent a wrong picture as this does not look like a tweed combination - at all.

oh it's a tweed for sure
Scps.jpg

a picture from another day of wearing the same jacket
camera phone just not good at picking up the details
especially in the weak incandescent lighting
i guess this is why one should always include "deets" photos

I was being sarcastic. It's a nice jacket, but navy pants, formal white shirt and navy tie make the combination very suit-y. Why not light-gray or mid-gray flannels, tatterstall shirt, and burnt-orange foulard tie, for example, to really differentiate this outfit from a suit?

You look like you need a bagpipe.

:)
NYR, I like the boots.

Thanks, Alden Ultimate Jumpers from LS. They're my beater experiment (as you can see by the edge trim). Trying to wear them at least 3-4 time per week with no polish, or anything other than a brushing here and there. Want to see how they'll patina after the winter.

Thanks. Pants are Epaulet, Rudy fit. I think you're right on the color, as even though the pic was ******, I felt the jacket with the look made it much easier on the eye (if thats possible with pants like that). Mike's pants (Epaulet) are ridiculously good. I especially like that it comes in basically two fits, the Rudy is more generous with a wider thigh and seat, while his Walts are not hipster tight, but slimmer, and they work for me as well. I think Ed's stuff (Panta) fits in between the two, so for OTR, they take care of my OTR pant needs.

I have the same pants from Epaulet. Currently 'saving' them for this year's office Christmas party. Going to jazz them up with a navy velvet blazer, white cashmere turtle neck, etc. etc.

I'm glad to hear you also like Pantas. I only have one pair so far - but I'm very happy with them.
