Regarding the colour button holes, what's wrong with it? I am convinced that if some old tailor does it regularly then no one will give a word about it. I believed some SF members, including me, loves Tom Ford, but their five button cuff with the extra long first cuff is just as showy and flashy as a coloured cuff.

Same here. I feel the jacket is not casual enough to complement the other components. An unstructured jacket in cotton or linen would enhance the look, IMO.

Looking at it again - yes the jacket does look out of place rather then the jeans. Still though I think slightly more tapered jeans would look better. Maybe its the stitching on the denim that's throwing me off.

That was pretty much my reaction, yeah. It looks like it needs to be pressed, or whatever the heck you necktie people do when a tie looks like it was stuffed into an envelope and sent cross country.

Maybe it's just me, but if ever there was an outfit that called for skipping the French cuffs, this was it.

I don't like that effect either, which I why I don't really buy unlined ties (well, actually, I think I may have one or two, but the wider point stands). I theoretically understand the appeal, but it's totally not for me.
