I like it, spoo. The shoes are a great choice. I'd like to see it pimped even more. Needs a little Swinging London element. Maybe add a wild paisley scarf or micro polka dot shirt.

cords demand suede shoes or some kind of scotch grain. A cord suit benefits from more casual pieces like a BD collar shirt or textured/patterned shirt and non silk tie. Those pants could also benefit either from turnups or a bit smaller length. In the pic they look like (rock the) bells.

Funny you say the micro polka dot shirt. I had a white shirt in college with these micro black little designs that I bought at an Express. I loved it so much and wore it until it fell apart.

I really don't agree on the shoes (nor, necessarily, the rest), and especially not with the kind of fine wale cord being worn by Spoo on this occasion. Monk straps are plenty casual enough, but also have the kind of slightly different (dare I say, foppish) feeling that a fine wale cord suit - as opposed to a Geography teacher kind of thick wale cord suit - also conveys.

Ed, I agree that in general cord suits go better with those country elements. But a purple cord suit? It's so flashy already, I like the idea of pimping it out. Yeah baby!

Pimpy Wednesday. FWIW, I don't like it.

To be honest, neither do I. Better as separates, I'd have thought. If you're going to suit it, Parker's spot on with his advice above. Go black chelseas & vibrant shirt (and/or scarf and/or tie). Purple cord suit = party item not country suit, so accessorise for that IMO. As separates, taking a country-ish/gastropub-ish route (you know what I mean, country core image but trying to be more modern with it e.g. edmorel's suggestions) would be fine.

Turtle tie today...
