What Movies Are You Watching Lately - Page 414

Watching the Judge Dredd remake. Wow do I hate this movie. Dredd is the villian, does everybody get that? He's a fascist fucking nazi asshole. I don't even do illegal drugs but if I were in that world I'd take up arms against him. I vaguely remember the Stallone version and it was not at all like this. Sure, the visuals in this one are more impressive, but holy shit Dredd needs to die.

agreed. acting was good but it was a movie that didn't really have a start or finish. sort of like if you filmed someones life for a few days.

Derp! Did you also not realize that The Hulk is big and quite strong?

The Bourne Legacy... it evoked the legacy of the food my body can't digest.

t.

Watching it right now and it's still great.

BTW, a lot of the jokes are funnier if you have at least a passing knowledge of philosophy, especially the writings of Nietzsche.

Starting the great DVD cull of 2013.... which basically means I will be watching all the worst movies in my collection over the next few weeks. Why did I ever buy so many DVDs? The bad movies I don't want to watch, and the good ones I want to replace with HD copies.

The Game (1997)

I like watching this after the original Wall Street. Michael's character is basically an older Gordon Gekko type.

Well said. Anyone that views this film in even your top thousand has no taste.

I liked it. Too many movies are paced the same way, its nice to see that get challenged a bit. I thought it was a solid cast, well thought thru.

Heathers. Still love this movie like I did when I was 14.

Well, yeah, the cast was good, but I enjoy if there's some sort of excitement in a movie. The plot was boring as hell, and utterly predictable, so the only highlights were the overly drawn out dialogues. And the violence.

I watched TDKR last night, and it was pretty much exactly what I expected. It's not my favorite of the trilogy, but it was still a lot of fun.

One big complaint I have regarding Bane:
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
The way they developed Bane really irked me. The mask in the comic version would have explained things like punching through concrete (and Bane's exceptional strength in general), but when it came up in his movie back story, it was, "yeah, it's a painkiller."

There were a couple of other things that bugged me, or I thought they could have developed better, especially given the run time, but, even so, I can't imagine going to see that movie and not expecting exactly what you got. I liked it, and I thought it was a solid superhero/comic movie.
