At what point did he add the styling product?

So he mentions that there will be a second video for curley hair... any ideas when that will be?

i couldnt imagine going 3 days without washing my hair...
I have straight hair maybe a half inch or so longer than the guy in the video and when I wake up in the morning my hair so bad looking without a wash i probably wouldn't leave the house. my hair will be pushed around and pretty much wont move, even it i just wet it slightly and rub it with a towel. i need a shampoo to get it to settle down.

Interesting video.

Is the sole purpose of the blowdrying to heat and position hair where you want it?

I'm not sure I've ever used one except to dry my hair on particularly cold days.

Yep, instead of positioning the hair with product, like is commonly done, the positioning is done mostly with the hair dryer. Then, the fluffiness is taken out and some extra details are refined using product. The style will also hold until you next wet your hair.

It's tough, if not impossible, to get the kind of hairstyle he showed in the video to look natural and to stay in place by only using product, especially as it gets longer.

Yeah, I have actually altered what he does, mostly because I find that when I wake up my hair doesn't look very good from the night's sleep.

I used to wash my hair every day with shampoo, but have cut it back to twice a week. I do, however, rinse my hair with warm water in the shower every day just to get the product out, but to keep the natural oils. Then I blowdry and add product as described in the video.

what do you guys use for hair wax/gel/styling? I currently use brylcreem gel, but don't like it much. I've always looked for something like Redken Rough Clay 20, just my luck that it's not sold anymore when I find it. I like Kiehl's products, anyone used there Creative Cream Wax? Any recommendations?

You can still buy redken rough clay online. I just bought some from ebay a couple weeks ago and it's very good if used how he describes in the video.

I use clay on my hair and literally use about a nomral tooth paste sized amount, it always flops back down from how i style it but worse is how it looks the next day. Once i sleep on that tiny amount of product, i wake up with straggly, greasy looking hair with bits of white flakes in it. Literally cant leave the house without washing my hair every day.

hmmm, it does seem that it's out of stock in places that it wasn't a couple weeks ago.

I think they have it in stock at some of these places:

It shouldn't flop back down if you're using a hairdryer. Redken Rough clay is definitely not going to keep the hair up by itself, nor will any "natural finish" hair product once hair gets to a certain length. You really do need to hair-dry it up and use the product to create texture. Not sure why you're getting white flakes, that doesn't happen to me. Maybe dandruff?
