Could this have had something to do with color/country of origin? I have also bought the mesh polos in bulk and after receiving the same wear & washing some have faded badly and some still look new.

My love affair with Ralph Lauren started when I found this forum. Before, I was wearing Kenneth Cole dress shirts as I found the Polo clothing very baggy on me especially the dress shirts. But now I know about the different labels and different fits. And if some shirts are baggy I just get them altered and they fit great. My affair spans all three labels.

Here is my damage:
Dress Shirts: 12
Sweaters: 9
Suits: 3
Belts: 2
Socks: 7
Polos: 8
Ties: 15
Shoes: 2
Pants: 2

Thanks styleforum

thanks to SF, I love Polo. i'd always kind of stayed away because of the ponys (still won't wear those), but the polo jackets i've bought just fit me better than anything else i've ever tried. (so if you've got any 42s you're looking to lose ...)

Chester Barrie for RLPL is my number one favorite brand. I have 2 suits from them and 3 sportcoats. I'm always on the hunt for more. Beyond that I have 3 RLPL (Italy) ties and a polo suit. Plus 2 pairs of shoes and 2 pair of pants.

I've been in the military for almost ten years, active duty Air Force, so I don't wear "civilian clothes" as often as my uniform. Needless to say, a lot of my clothes are in like new condition, and I have collected quite a lot over the years. Ralph Lauren has always been a staple for me because it's reasonably priced, fits well, and for me has enduring style and quality. I could live without the logos, but it's never a deal breaker for me.

After lurking and then joining the forums, I've been researching the higher end lines, BL and PL, and have begun to invest in some PL items. I can say that the quality and detail are significantly better than the mainstream BL, although there exceptions (the made in Italy BL items come to mind). I've also had some luck finding good deals on Brioni and Zegna items here on the forums as well as eBay. Since I have not actually worn any Brioni or Zegna (I know there are many tiers to this brand), can anyone comment on their quality vs. PL?

I'm currently in Afghanistan and when I get home next month, my wardrobe will go through an extensive makeover. This forum has certainly opened my eyes to say the least!
