LanceM - they're going to order them in and hold them until the 9th? They're actually ok with that? Is this the norm for people - I can't picture asking for that at my store. One time I had a hard time getting a price reduction, and I think it was only within a week.

My SA actually suggested it when I asked when the sale would occur. They didn't have stock of the color I was interested in, so maybe its more of a stock thing.   I'm not sure when they will order them, but I think it was written down in the order book.  I have a great relationship with everyone there.  They once got a shipment of cheese from WI from AE and shared some with me and my lady.

Thanks, this is in good company with my Brassvello LWBs, and Color #4 WT Boots. Their sizing on me is spot on as I did them as a pre-order and tried on probably 8 different sizes of Brown Shell Strands before they placed this order.

Also does anyone have pics of an AE boot with reverse welt? Has been on my mind recently.

You think you've seen all the Walnut there is to see... The finish on those is really, really nice.

I saw a pair of shoes on the Shoebank in the 555 last. This last is used on the Kirkwood and Maritime (maybe others as well).
Can anyone tell me how this last compares to others? I'm mostly concerned about length and toke space.
Thank you.

Any chance of them bringing back the Amok design or an equivalent chukka? they were really nice.

Oh, they'll need to include a YYZ model too. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Those are the new Road Warriors comfort collection about to be introduced at retail. Basically like Ecco and Rockports.

General question. Which should have more toe room a 8.5D or 9C?

9C more than likely. They will be roughly the same width, with the C being a hair more snug. Being a half size longer though will change where the ball of your foot lands in the shoe, putting it in the wider part of the shoe, which in turn should make it feel a little roomier for your toes. Does that make sense?

EDIT: this is all contingent on how proportional your foot is. I.E. if your arch is a little longer than your overall length, which is generally the case, although not the rule.

I've also spoken to @garland about doing an MTO of these, but going to do a fitting first to determine if I can squeeze my 3E into a D...

EDIT: If they don't fit, I wonder how much begging, pleading, and bribing it would take to get this boot on another last... damn this last and its D width!

MTO rules have changed so not sure what is currently acceptable...

but AE made these in 2014:

size 15 Chestnut Dublin Odenwalds on 511g last (Click to show)

They said the shape of the Odenwald was similar enough to the 511 last

(the b34 last only goes up to size 14)

Thanks for the response! It makes perfect sense.

Those look awesome! I've been a little lazy in picking mine up, but I'll finally get to it today. We're yours firsts or seconds?

Thanks!  Mine were classified as seconds.  Very minimal wrinkling on the shaft of the boots - I can not even tell anymore where it was originally.  They came out great - pick yours up and wear them!! You will love them.
