As of today I am 13 weeks and 5 days for a pair of Shell Walnut MacNeils. After 10 weeks (though Iw as told 6-8 to make them when I ordered them), I was told, when I called AE, not when they called me, that my first pair did not pass inspection. Understandable, and I appreciate high standards and what a top quality product. But at that time I was told my remakes would be made in an expedited fashion, and I should be hearing rom them in 1 week or so.

It is frustrating for me. But I am still looking forward to what I know will be one of my favorite shoes. Though, not as much as I was 3+ months back when I finally pulled he trigger on them.

This mirrors my experience exactly, especially the last part.

The difference now, however, is that when I've called recently, it goes to voicemail.

Thanks for this good news! I no longer have to consider paying an arm and an arm (need my legs for shoes) to Ball and Buck -- who no longer have the Mora in brown anyway. Surprised they're calling it Mora 2.0 if it's effectively the original Mora; my understanding is they've brought back models from the dead and even changed them without renaming them.

Any word on when this'll be available?

Not to mention that these are shoes, not computer software.

Misery loves company...I am glad to hear I am not alone though. I have sent 4 or 5 emails as well as left two messages just asking for an update. all I am looking is simply a timeframe when they may be ready. I really dont think that the courtesy of a returned email and that info is too much to ask

I've gotten all four of mine from this round. My second try at walnut shell MacNeils landed yesterday!

These look great! How did you get these? I would love to get some myself. Who is Paul and what is the MTO offer?

Second MTO landed this week... Fairfax in cappuccino shell.
The Fairfax was what started my love affair with AE as I saw it in a few men's magazines (in chestnut/walnut) and even on a billboard or two near the higher end shopping centers in town. I knew that those were big boy shoes and that one day I would make them mine.
When Paul made the MTO offer, even for discontinued models, the Fairfax immediately came to mind as a must have in a rare shell color.

As with the cappuccino shell Fifths, these were FLAWLESS right out of the box. I have been reading that there have been a lot of rejects in the MTO make ups as of late but assure you it is well worth the wait for the perfect pair.

Last MTO should be landing middle to late next month. Getting very close to having a complete collection... until the new fall line of boots comes out of course.

If the strands don't fit me well at the ankle (flares open) how would the patriot fit?

I'd say I'm about a 8.5D/E in Strand/PA.

I did try on neumok in 8.5 sockless in store and it seemed to fit great.

Thanks

Walnut Strands arrived from Nordstrom (direct from AE). Took about 2 weeks. The i-phone pic does not do justice to how nice these really are.

It's somewhat odd that some people seem to be rolling in the MTOs, and others are having trouble even making contact with someone.

I am now into the 9th week since my (non-shell) MTO Leeds order. Emailed Allison last week to ask about their status, since I was originally told it would be 8 weeks. I did get a reply right away saying that they were on schedule and would be ready by the end of last week or beginning of this week, but I'm still waiting and have not received word. I'm being patient and giving them the benefit of the doubt, although I am envious of some of you guys who got your MTOs in ~4 weeks.

Paul Grangaard is the CEO of Allen Edmonds. His offer is to email him directly with your MTO preferences, and he will have them made at the standard price for a pair of AE first quality shoes of the same material, as long as the materials are available and your request is "reasonable." They will tell you if it can't be done.

Here I was complaining a bit on my MTO...when I got home I found these waiting!

My shell cordovan Dalton's! Please excuse the poor lighting and photo quality
Very nice, can you please provide details. Is that a custom color inside lining?

Anyone familiar with the Kenwood Loafer? Specifically the Burgundy Cordovan.

I am having a terrible time fitting into loafers with the normal last and am thinking a "hand sewn" last would be better.

In the 5 last I wear 11.5D.

They fit looser to me than my other 9D Allen Edmonds.

I just contacted AE to see if they would price match the Manistee belt which is on sale for $76.90 at Nordstrom's, but in Bourbon. No go for launch. They will price match, but only in the colors that are part of the sale.

Not to rub it in, but I was able to get price match for Manistee belts in Bourbon and Merlot by emailing around. I just BCC'ed an email to a bunch of stores in my area. Most replied that they couldn't, but one was happy to do it.

Thanks Calikid,

This is actually just the normal Dalton in Burgundy Shell Cordovan, so the lining is standard. The boot is beautiful, but standard.

My MTO is a non-shell burgundy Franciscan with finishings of the Independence Collection (premium calf skin upper, lambskin lining, bi-color sole, etc)...hopefully it turns out well

About a month ago I found a Manistee belt in Bourbon - exactly the color I'm looking for to match my McAllisters! But.... it was a 34 waist (and I'm a 38)
