No no, he got it right the first time. This movie's great for people of all ages. You're dismissing hints of Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow (crap movie with groundbreaking effects), Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke), plus an entire era of silent film-making which are decidedly not intended for children. They're nods to an audience which appreciates great films. These hints don't matter though, because the story's surprisingly poignant and mature for an animated film. Also: the movie is damn funny whether you're old enough to buy alcohol or not.
