I used to think that too, but I'm surprised as to how many people own cars in NYC - I suppose mostly to leave NYC. I noticed that during the summer, it's kinda easy to find street parking.

Isn't that just the car that all the hired car dudes drive? Those guys are almost as common as taxis. It's not the people who live here that drive them.
