^ just get the 10oz. I doubt you'll be dissapointed. 7oz is a pretty new and their chinos have been popular since forever.

But, full disclosure, I only have 2 pairs and they are both the 12oz, lol. I like my chinos more like denim. If I wanted something thin, I would go w/ the walt.

Can anyone offer suggestions on what to wear with these space boots?

Never mind. Looks like I'll be figuring it out for myself in a few days. The brass eyelets tipped the scales.

I suspect this conversation comes up often:

Adele: "That's some pretty wacky stuff you're planning on stocking. Who's gonna buy?"
Mike: "Keith and Rob for sure."

Seeing restocked sizings of Khaki Canvas Rivets, Gunmetal Rivets (which i own and love and am currently having ever so slightly tapered around the knee down), Navy Canvas and Desert Duck Canvas. Also Caramel Ducks are restocked in limited sizing, and French blue in limited.

French blues are up in case anyone is interested (but not the lightweight ones). I cannot wait to get mine!

I've been waiting for these for months, but alas, only 32 through 36 are available. Hopefully a restock the smaller sizes is in the offing, but with summer approaching, this seems unlikely. I did grab a 7 oz version, but really like the heavier duck cloth.

As much as people are excited about these 7oz, the 10oz are awesome and I was lucky enough to get one from a return. I don't think they are going to be too hot for me this summer, considering "summer-weight" raw denim is 10z as well. I really enjoy how solid and substantial they feel. If they restock the 10s before the 7s, I wouldn't hesitate... just my 2 cents.

IMO the 10oz is the way to go. I didn't like the way the 7oz hung... was too light IMO. 10oz have a solid shape to them.

Must be a great feeling for Mike and crew to put stock up online and see it start to disappear almost instantly. It's like "Cha-ching!"

I hardly imagine this is the norm for a clothing store. Well deserved.

The Awning trousers were awesome today!

Dude! They're looking great.

Will there be a leaf chino restock? They're already gone in 32.

Yup, definitely. Within the next 4-5 weeks or so.

Didn't get to my computer right when the french blues dropped.. thankfully there was still a 28 left. Copped.. and looks like I got the last one.
Thanks, Mike! Seriously excited about these.

Very nice, glad that you got one. Enjoy them and thanks!

Those new Snuff Suede PTB's are absolutely gorgeous. I think snuff is a close 2nd to navy for my favourite alden suede. actually, probably tied for first. As for the "Milkshake's," I can appreciate the crispness and craftsmenship of them, but they are not a boot/shoe i could ever feel comfortable wearing. im petrified wearing a white shirt let alone a shoe! bravo to anyone who can pull these off.

Mike, some great new items, but any idea when restocks you mentioned will show up? i mean go home and have a nice meal and all haha.

We'll have a bunch of basic chino restocks going up shortly - I'll post them once they're live. Got two huge-ass boxes arriving today.

Mike - I'm really on the sportcoat fence here. What's the weight/hand like on the navy glenplaid Marcello? Also, will the pricing be in line with the Southwick line?

Yeah, me too. I tried on the Southwick blue check and really liked it, but wanted to compare it to the nailhead Marcello. I'm afraid in the time it takes for the Italian jackets to land my size in the Southwick will find itself in the closet of someone far less deserving than myself. What to do?

Mike, from your brief description it sounded as if the Marcello had a more slouchy fit than the Southwick. Is that accurate?

Pricing is going to be very close. Depending on the import duties, the Marcellos will be somewhere between $595 and $635.

The fit on the Marcello's is going to be a bit different than the Weller/Caine. They're a little bit shorter, a little more casual, and they have that totally unconstructed Neopolitan shoulder. They'll have a markedly different vibe than the Southwick collection. Shape-wise, the Marcello is 3/8 lined, 2 button, and single vented.

I don't have too much cross-over stylistically. If you dig the navy tonal glen plaid then you might want to choose between the Loro Piana Caine or the incoming Marcello. But the Nailhead Marcello will be signifiantly lighter in color and feel than that Barberis Weller. And the gingham patterned Marcello is going to be dandy as hell - kind of a mixture of blue and goldenrod tones.

Gah. Nice as they are, that was not the Alden news I was waiting for.
Awesome stuff all around though. Keeping the powder dry for the Natural CXL LWBs...biding my time...

Oh they should be en-route pretty soon, I'd say in the next few weeks.

yeah, Mike, you do have a couple hundred yards of french blue 7oz somewhere around there uncut, don't you?

Actually we do. We'll have a large-scale restock of 7oz French Blue, don't worry. This delivery was only limited because I planned to roll out the 7oz fabric in a stronger way in late May. Typically, this is kind of an early delivery time for these goods. It's just warmer than usual in our key markets.

Are there plans to restock the Ashland Summer Plaid?

Ah sadly no, we zapped out all of that fabric. Plenty more Epaulet shirts en-route though.

No love for the 36s. :( :(

Haha, we'll get you with the next delivery. My apologies for that. Our Manhattan store had a lot of size 36 guys snatching up several pairs at once. We'll have more coming in soon!

You know, I'm about 5 minutes of thought away from putting these in my closet myself after following a similar process of affinitization. Only thing that's holding me back is my perennial 10.5 vs. 11 debate.

I'd recommend the 10.5 in these, especially in suede you're going to get some stretch on them.

I'm strangely drawn to the leaf green chinos.

Oh the leaf color is so good. Some guy came in here with a navy Engineered Garments blazer and tried on the leaf's. He walked out with those pants on and his jeans in a bag. They are the boss-est thing on Earth with navy jackets.

The thing that's holding me back is the fact that those would be destroyed by indigo ASAP

Can anyone offer suggestions on what to wear with these space boots?

The Milkshake Indy's are pretty amazing. I mean, it's almost impossible to keep these things totally clean. They're definitely going to pick up stains with wear. But you can keep them reasonably clean and let them age nicely. I first noticed this material because Jockum, the designer of Our Legacy had a pair a few years back. He had worn them a ton - stained them with plenty of marks - and they looked great! There's something awesome about a light suede like this being broken in on a tough boot. I think that Indigo marks would look really nice on it. Steven from Leffot brought in a similar model - although on a plantation crepe sole - and he sold them out to the last piece. I'd wear them with denim, chinos, any of our cotton trousers. These would be a psychotically nice match to the 10oz French Blue or 10oz Plum Rivets. The nice thing about a white-ish boot is that they pretty much match everything. You could even wear them with the white chinos for that droog Clockwork Orange look. You just need to get a Shell Cordovan codpiece to match.

Its funny cause the restock is almost sold out before Mike even realizes theyre already online. Wow, not a bad business to be in for the Epaulet fam.

Mike-
If wear a 33 in the Walts, should I also take a 33 in the Duck Canvas Rivets as well?

Go 10.5 and sockless. Done. Grab a pair of 8.5 for me while you're in the cart, would ya?

Sockless, yes. I'd have to get some trousers hemmed to a serious high water mark to show that off though. Or wear them with shorts. And I see you ordered yours, as I did with mine. Definitely like the brass eyelets/speed hooks. Picked up a couple of other items as well and I have to say that the total amount was a little shocking.:embar:

Man this thread is flying the last day!! So Mike (or anyone who may know) with the seat and waist being let out for the 'new' fit on the Chino's is this limited to the 7oz ones only or did this also happen to the canvas re-stock? Is this the standard fit from now on?

Thanks in advance.
