Cabin in the NY area for a weekend vacation?

Yeah, kind of a specific topic, but does anyone know of any places that offer cabins for rent by day within a reasonable radius of NYC or CT? I am looking for no frills, Thoreau shit here. Not a resort, not a spa, no room service, no skiing. Just a cabin. With trees and stuff around it. I don't want to be sharing a cabin with others or have twenty cabins in a little village like a townhouse.

Does this kind of thing even exist? Any help appreciated, thanks br0s.

Adirondacks is a good spot for this, but that isn't exactly close to NYC. What about Harriman State Park area? That's all I can think of.

Catskills are a bit closer than Adirondacks (though probably not as nice).

You can search here for cabins

Rented one several years ago but I couldn't tell you how the gf found it or even where exactly it was.

Thanks guys, both of those sound good. I'm trying to find something bare bones - television and electricity not required.

Isn't Western Connecticut pretty rural? Maybe you could try there.

Cherish the cabin.

Catskills are the way to go if you need to be closer to NYC. Though the Adirondacks are the better vacation spot and have way more options for inexpensive cabins all over the park. Figure a 4 hour drive at least from the southern Adirondacks.

Can I find a shitty cabin anywhere for like $60 a night? If I have to spend more than that I might just go camping.

The dudes you're trying to escape with (Chelsea 'mos) will only go to the Hamptons.

You can. It's called a short-stay motel.

Alternatively, you can stay on my patio for free. No keys required.
