I'm glad to see the character of worn shoes, too. Although I've seen the pics of Yachtie's worn shell Alden's several times now, I still am thrilled every time I stroll down the thread and see them. The character of the shell creases is a real treat to my eyes.

With that said, I do enjoy seeing shoes fresh out of the box or very gently and infrequently worn. However, I enjoy seeing the well worn ones, too.

No kidding, I can't remember this happen. Must be over ten years ago. But I really make up my mind occassionally. Some I like and some not.

Edward Green for Cole-Haan (eBay purchase January 07).

Produced mid-80s (extremely low number: 3955); last 202, size (American) 9½ C

Soles still original, but getting a bit thin, due for refurbishment at EG soon.

Missed this - they're just too old to have any legible markings. They're probably English, though.

Paul Stuart shell cordovan

Alden cordovan

Polo Darlton cordovan

EG for Asprey plaintoe bluchers. Tough to keep the toe shiny and not have polish crack off the vamp. I may have to strip these and start over.

Another of the same thing

Lattanzi for Asprey plaintoe bluchers. Pretty conservative eh?

EG for Asprey city boots

Nice Aldens. It's great to see a well-worn pair of Whiskey shells.
