I mostly agree but ernest was pretty obnoxious at times and was offensive on at least a few occasions. Conne, while obnoxious, is mostly harmless.

To be clear: I often found vanity funny. But my recollection is he finally got banned, after several warnings and time-outs, for not only crossing lines set by j and the mods but by giving them a hard time in the transparent moderation thread. As far as I'm concerned, exhausting the patience of j and his posse is a perfectly good reason for banishment.
