Someone whose work I have long enjoyed but who is not terribly well-known: Alison Van Pelt:

People whose work my wife, I, or both of us (we don't always agree on these things) enjoy enough to have in our home:
Candida Hoffer:

Joseph Maruska:

Martin Kersels (this is the actual piece we own):

Miles Coolidge:

A few others but I'm tired of posting for the moment. I've also seen photographs over the 'net of designprofessor's work, and it's pretty cool.

Thanks. Fortunately, my wife knows something about art. I'm you're classic "I know what I like" philistine. With the exception of the Kersels piece, none of those are actual pieces we own, just represenative examples of people's work that I was able to find via google.

But you'll take pictures of all the rooms and post them?

I mainly like minimalism (Donald Judd, Sol Lewitt) and geometric abstraction (Peter Hally, early Frank Stella). I'm also fond of street/youth culture/grafitti-influenced contemporary art -- the "beautiful losers" artists like Barry McGee and Kaws.

If you have art worth stealing you should be able to afford a security system.
