I'm pretty sure that E is the normal width (D=USA) for the Euro market. Hence, it makes perfect sense that everyone's shoes fit perfectly 1/2 size down.

Yes, except I believe that someone called AE and they explicitly stated that these were an American "E" width and not a European "E"; perhaps its the last or the fact that less than a 1/4" difference from "D" to "E" isn't so noticeable. Also, as I've already mentioned, cordovan may fit differently than calf.

I ordered an 10 1/2 E and an 11 E to be safe. If they were calf and would streach, I think the 10 1/2 E would be a keeper but now they are too snug.

The 11 E fits like my other 11 D AE's, so if anyone wanted a pair of these and missed out, I have the 10 1/2 E and would offer them to you for my cost and whatever shipping charges were.

Otherwise I'll send them back to STP.

Got mine today and my 10.5E fit like a US 11D, as expected. I'm pleasantly surprised with the shoes - I like them

Ditto, i didn't get a chance to lace them (delivered and left at the office), but I'm normally a 7.5D, the 7E fits -- i think I could even do the 6.5E if I had to -- but it was a little snug in the vamp.

Damn. Missed the boat on these, they ran out of 8.5d's. Guess when links are posted on SF stock moves extra quick.

Got mine yesterday as well, and was able to wear them out for a few hours last night.

I generally take a 10.5D or E, occasionally an 11, and the 10.5Es fit me quite well. There is a little extra room in the toes, but I guess the last just has a bit of an elongated toe, as my foot does not slide forward at all. They're actually the first shoe in a while that has not caused me any discomfort on the first wearing (I have a wide toe area, and usually my shoes need a day or two to strech a bit to accomodate that). All in all, a good fit.

They are also a lot more comfortable out of the box than the Alden and C&J shell cordovan shoes I own - probably because there is no steel shank in AEs.

Wearing mine around the office now. I wore Park Avenues in an 11.5EEE to the office today. They are nearly the same size, although the #8 last is more tapered through the toe than the #5 last. I think the 12Es are a keeper. Nice shoes.
