"Lacoste's famous trademark symbol is its Lacoste crocodile logo patch. This is one of the easiest way to spot a fake. A genuine Lacoste crocodile should be very distinct and should show scales, claws, and teeth. Any variation from this detailed standard should be deemed a fake."

I would say the jacket is fake. Edit: Also, look at how tidy the above logo is, then look at the ebay picture. There is loose thread everywhere and even a misplaced red thread.

I would ask the seller for some high res pictures first. Hard to tell on the small pics currently online.

Burberry denim shorts. Attachment 67364Attachment 67365Attachment 67366Attachment 67367Attachment 67368 Purchased locally at a boutique called '真正的/Genuine', cost 110 RMB. Quality appears good, and the denim feels great. Probably knock-off, but one never knows. Oh yeh "Respectable high character gentle men's collection."... is that really a Burberry slogan? Sorry if wrong forum, but doesn't appear to be an 'Official real or fake' in SW&D.

Those look fake to me. The "Respectable high character gentle men's collection" is the first tell-tale sign. In addition, the check pattern sewn by the pocket is all wrong.

On a side note, why are you buying denim shorts?

I figured as much. It's just that the quality seemed unusually high for 'Burberry London' knock-off (well apart from the incorrect plaid and the Chinglish slogan on the tags), much of it can be truly awful in Xilinhot. Same for other famous western brands e.g. 'Mporio Amrani' there are a few students (Chinese Alpha Males) in the school with this on their shirts complete with the GA bird thing logo

, 'Louis Vittin', 'Burbery Londan'. Most of the time I buy Chinese brands of clothing, but for shorts I couldn't find anything I liked or they where just too small. I do have a pair of jeans bought in Zhuhai, Guangdong which have 'The Fashion Is Your Excellence Choic' on the belt loops label, and they've actually lasted for 2 years and still look respectable. Something which always amuses me, there is a young female English teacher in the school, who sometimes wears this oversized T-shirt with 'NEW YORK FASION WEK' printed on it in huge letters.

Because I already have several pairs of canvas type shorts, also currently the weather is just too hot for full length jeans, chinos or trousers. Cargo, athletic and basketball shorts don't really appeal to me.

Hey guys,

Anyone think this coat is real?

http://cgi.ebay.com/CLASSIC-BURBERRY...item3f0ade1d48

I have a feeling it's fake. 1) no plaid check under the collar. This could be an older model, though. 2) The label that reads "GBBURLIMCAS" just above a label with some Chinese characters. When I did a Google search of gbburlimacas, the only results I got were Chinese websites (red flag!) that seemed to be discussing fake labels (big red flag!) and one Danish website where a girl was asking if she bought a fake Burberry coat, to which responders believed she did (nail in the coffin).

I don't own a Burberry, but this 'gbburlimcas' label looks like some Chinese ****. Even the font is suspicious; it looks like a sleek Helvetica an asian brand would use.

Thoughts?

Who cares, whomever won, got it for £ 1.90... So probably is...
Having said that it's a pretty ugly shirt...

Looks OK, but the buttons are surprisingly "plasticy". I'm not sure how good YSL shirts are, but the color is nice and whoever won it won't lose much either way.

It looks like an old licensed YSL shirt. Low quality, probably made in China or Korea. Totally different from current YSL.

Many brands allowed their names to be put on all kinds of cheap stuff back in the 80s and 90s: Dior, Balmain, etc. Avoid.

Nothing special. Dime a dozen.

Probably got no bids because of that neck size.

This is from a licensing they have with various discount stores. They come in these nice looking boxes you'd get when you buy a fine Italian shirt, however they're made in China and they come in style you'd find with Calvin Klein and other low end junk. Seen them at Century 21 and Filenes. Luciano Barbera has started to do this as well. The collar styles are actually tasteful and the cloth is a good rip off of the real deal. They retail around $60 something. So actually for Brooks Brothers type quality, you get a good deal that is at least is made to look sophisticated. The YSL ones are just crap all in all though. They wouldn't even attract the man interested in YSL clothing,

Does it matter at that price - it will cut up into grand dusters.
