I have a "36.5 inch chest and I'm '5"11, I can not find shirts to fit me at all(nor jackets for that matter). How can I find shirts to fit when the only measurements are neck and sleeve("14.5x"33).

My waist is "33 and I weigh 165.

Where are you located? Try the custom made dress shirts (MTM) route. You will get the fit you want. Unless you're in a hurry

have you tried the brooks brothers extra slim? I have similar proportions and it fits me pretty well (well I'm shorter and thinner but their shirts are a little too long and wide for me)

I own one BB extra-slim and it's my best fitting shirt, but it's not as tight as I'd like.

Slim fit shirts are made for guys who have a six inch or more drop, which means if you have a 36" chest your waist should be in the neighborhood of 30 inches. But it's not, it's 33 inches, which means if you wear a slim fit shirt you're going to look like a sausage.

Here's a hint, SF'ers: tight shirts went out with disco.

Try getting the back pleat sewn down, it'll take off an inch in diameter.

You need to post fit pics. Your measurements are confusing and don't sound like slim fit.

OP: go the MTM route. It's the best.
