The Defining 1990s Movie

The varied awesomeness that was the 1990s cannot be defined in a single film.

I mentioned this thread to my wife the other day:

Me: So what do you think the defining 90s movie would be?

Wife: Goonies!

Me: the 80's

Wife: Umm, Dazed and Confused

She's a really smart woman and I love both of those movies, but she cracks me up sometimes.

+1 on Jurassic Park. It was to me what Star Wars was to my dad and Avatar is to my little sister: the start of a new time in movies.

In terms of impact on world film it's much more of a defining work than 95% of the other films that have been mentioned in this thread. For me at least it's both THE seminal work of 90s asian cinema and probably one of the most influential movies made anywhere in the world during that decade.

I've mentioned this before, but I can't think of a movie that was more dependent on the performances of two supporting actors. They killed it.
