Rimowa from US retailers is overpriced, you can get it cheaper if you order from the german sites or if you use one of the US retailers who will match prices.

Das Bags will price match IIRC, you have to call. German retailers would be koffer24 and koffer-direkt

How big is your laptop? Thought about an Ipad?

Tumi also makes this nice bag with the leather trim (but budget buster for you) and it has a large outside pocket.

Maybe you can get a bit of a discount on their next sale event.

At the moment I'm using mainly my MBP 13''. The current iPad doesn't do much stuff that my iPhone doesn't do, and doesn't support some software I need, so I'm staying away from tablets at the moment.

The Tumi is nice but slightly feminine, and too expensive. I can't warm to the non-aluminium Rimowas.

I've had poly Rimowa luggage hold up better than my aluminium Rimowa. The metal ones get dents and scratches, while the poly ones just get scratches which buff out.
