Any recommended street wear places? The SW&D forum doesn't have any threads on Paris.

Colette is said to be the place to go, but it was disappointingly small when I went.

Forget the walk, at that point you're like three doors down from Brunello Cucinelli, Goyard, and maybe a block from Place Vendome. I think Waterman is right around there, too, but not 100% sure about that. Also, IIRC, A.P.C. is about a 10 minute walk from Arny's, for your SW&D needs.

You had me at Brunello. I notice that it's often sold in gianfranco ferre stores in Paris though. Is it worthwhile to pop by a dedicated Brunello store?

Only if you enjoy fondling lots and lots of unbelievably nice garments.

If you're going to Charvet, you might as well go to B.C. If I remember, there are tons of cool stores in the area. Colette may be small and "disappointing", but it's fun to walk through. They have lots of cool stuff you don't see every day. I think there are a bunch of ancient stationery stores on that block, too.

I'd try to visit Atlan (http://www.altanbottier.com/) if i were going to Paris. Permanent Style did a write up about them a while back. If i remember correctly, they do MTO shoes for €350.

As others have mentioned, Arny's, Charvet, and J.M. Weston are all great stops. I also found some fun items at the department store Galeries Lafayette. Good shopping and people watching on Rue Faubourg St. Honore. Take a walk to the back of Berluti to see the shoes being hand polished.
