What can Kobe/Lebron do to surpass Jordan?

there'll never be another jordan, but mainly for sociological reasons ... as others have pointed out, he revived the nba when it was all but dead. but i'm a kobe man, too and so i'd say the comparison game is silly (but kind of fun ... i like the durant ggervin ... now wanna see durant go fingerroll). who was the greatest president, washington or lincoln? (i don't think fran reads this thread, so i know there won't be a bush vote).

magic is the most versatile pg ever and he kind of redefined the position, but i'm not sure about best. hell, steve nash could be the best ... or maybe john stockton. of course, as a die-hard laker, i'm not going to argue too much against magic ... or against oscar robertson for that matter. and strictly on style points .... Not quite. The league was well on its way back when MJ was still in high school.

Magic and Bird lead the revival coming off the '79 NCAA championship game (most watched ever), going to two traditional powerhouses on opposite ends of the country (geographically and culturally), and establishing themselves quickly as two of the best to ever bounce a ball.

Of course, MJ took what they started and launched it into the stratosphere.

Nash is not the best by any measure and I doubt he will ever seriously considered so. Stockton I guess is considered the prototype of a great G, but usually when I hear best PG ever, 90% it is Magic. His accomplishments speak for him.

The style of play is totally different now then in Jordans era.

I remember in Jordans era players were fun to watch for fans and for non-fans.

Now watching Basketball or anysport it seems like these players are just technicians doing
their job trying to win.
The fun has been taken out of sports
