Hi all,

I'm looking for a trim-fit light jacket with clean lines for spring/fall, basically a golf jacket style, with a shirt-type collar (not stand-up) and a straight hem at the bottom - no ribbing or elastic - in a decent fabric. Everyone seems to be doing Harrington-style jackets lately, and the rib trim just doesn't work well with my build - tends to bunch up and blouse out when zipped up. Most of the garden-variety old man golf jackets are the opposite of trim fit. Any pointers appreciated.

Thanks,
Hal

I was about to suggest a cotton canvas style A-2 bomber jacket that I saw in a Hammacher Schlemmer catalogue lately but I think from memory they have a knitted elasticated waist too like a Harrington.

Kinda, except it still has rib-knit hem and cuffs. More like this, but with a straight, non-elastic hem, slim fit, in navy, with nice fabric:

Thanks for responses BTW.

Cheers,

Have you looked at the Baracuta G4? I recently got one in dark navy - it's like a G9 Harrington, but without the elasticized cuffs and hem.

I'd considered it, but two things made me hesitate - I'm not a big fan of the Harrington-style collar, and the size guide at Oi Polloi led me to believe that it would be too long - I'm a short dude.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
