Despite the fact that I sized down 1 - 2" from my true waist size, they were so loose that I was able to take them off without unbuttoning them. At a more recent Gilt sale, I purchased a belt in size S. It's so large that I can't wear it on the smallest setting. In fact, the smallest setting is around 6" larger than my not-small waist. Please explain.

Dear "customer": You clearly misunderstand our sizing standards and terminology. The L on your overdyes stands for "lardass". You purchased size 29 lardass, which is for fat people who still want to wear pants that are tagged as size 29. Also, the size S on your belt does not indicate that it's a size small; the S stands for "sumo", because it's a studded leather belt intended for rikishi to wear when not clad in traditional mawashi for competition. We added this item to our collection to enhance the Japanese appeal of our Western-themed SoHo boutique, although we recognize that the belt in question was made in China.

Moreover, that's what you get for shopping on Gilt, you cheapskate. Get your lazy, provincial ass to New York to shop in brick-and-mortar location. If you take the Megabus it's what, $8 each way? You online bargain hunters don't deserve clothes that fit.

Thanks,
Jean Shop

Agreed. It's amazing how such a subjective topic gets turned into these huge debates about boring
