i had fun tonight. i was going to go with gavi or soave, but he recommended a vouvray (menu didn't have eastern loire). a bit too sweet and didn't go well with either duck or fish, but it was a good wine by itself.

i feel like food and wine is always forgettable when you're in good company

Ohh, in that case, you're absolutely right. Sorry to hear that the experience wasn't up to snuff, but I guess it's good that the good company made up for the mediocre meal.

a shame as I've had some very good food from there (but my last meal there, about 10 months ago, wasn't as good as it has been in the past).
