Having some job issues

Right. Again, not asking for a three day weekend her. Just a few hours of personal time now and then.
We've decided to just go ahead and do our thing. I have a feeling he will stop micromanaging prettty soon. And he won't fire us, they've invested a lot of time, money and training in us over the months. Actually he doesn't have the power to fire us and I've LBJ'd (established a close friendship w/an older more powerful individual) the boss's senior advisor.

Going around your supervisor is a big mistake no matter how close a relationship you have with a senior staff member.
The reputation you will get for breaching the chain of command is much worse than having to work everyday until November.

Here are your options:
1. You grow a pair and say something. Things change or don't change. You adapt based on the situation and either stick it out or find other employment.
2. You talk about this supervisor behind his back until the unrest grows to a fever pitch. One day you or another cohort snaps at him, and you possibly give someone the grounds to fire you. Or you just keep all of the rage pent up inside and have a heart attack at 30.
Either way, if you're going to stick it through, get something in writing that says "hey, I worked under unreasonable conditions, but you're giving me a full time gig once this is over, or at least a glowing recommendation".

This is why there are so many people who go from campaigns to law school. It's really the perfect training ground for law school and the grind of large law firms. You get used to working 7 days a week and sleeping on floors.

Not neccesarily the case. It depends on how good a relationship he has with the senior manager. In my last job, I was in this same dynmaic where my immediate supervisor cared very little for me, but her boss loved me. I got promoted and my immediate supervisor was transfered to Flagstaff AZ. However, I never complained to the senior manager about my direct boss. I just worked my butt off and she saw my accomplishments despite what my supervisor was telling her. Right before my supervisor was transfered out of our office the boss came and told me that she knew exactly what was going on and that she had my back.
