2. German food is terrible...
I love German food: Maultaschen, Spaetzle, Gluhwein, anything w/ Marzipan, pretty much any bread or milk product, and can we count Doeners? They're better there than anywhere else I've had them.

beside the big names like Scheer, Materna, Balint, Maftei, Kudweis, Petkov... there is a rather high number of workshops who do bespoke/custom made or made to measure. quality might vary but am sure there are a few hidden gems. no idea about this particular shop. the vintage glas display is not a bad sign either.
...view from the Gloriette is nice. have you been to Belvedere?
