I wouldn't use Rit dye. There's a reason the stuff is so cheap. It doesn't hold that well even on cotton fabrics.

Anyone contemplating dyeing their Clarks needs to listen to some Wu-Tang.

Might be a stupid question, but is this shoe breathable? Also general consensus is to size down? Is that true even if I choose to wear dress socks with these?

I sized down. I originally ordered my size but found out that I indeed should size down. I did a whole size because they dont make half sizes way up in bigfoot land

I don't blame you for asking this question, but I will point out that there a 181 pages of Clarks DB sizing questions. With that said size down a 1/2 from your measured shoe size. I'm a 10 and wear a 9.5. They fit perfect. I can wear them with thick, medium, and no socks.

What does breathable mean in the context of shoes exactly? Almost every shoe breathes unless it's sealed plastic. Leather will breathe less than canvas. I have just never heard of this being related to shoes before.
