^ I think he may be referring to Henry Bucks. It's a damn shame that Herringbone no longer does outlet sales in Melbourne.

I did mean Herringbone.

I had a quick squiz in the Collins Place store the other day but I was in a hurry. I thought they had a few suits marked down but it might have been only the jacket price w/o pants. Shirt prices seemed a bit steep.

Shooman can be quite strange at times (even setting aside his beliefs about wheatgrass, drinking one's own fluids and the pernicious influence of certain ethno-religious groups).

I was idly browsing the FNB forum a week or so back and noticed a thread of his about shoe-making in Melbourne. Shooman sounded awfully excited, as a shoemaker had revealed to him that his feet were not actually very wide, but that he had a high instep instead.

I don't know how old Shooman is, but I assume from his persona and tastes that he is probably in his thirties or perhaps forties. I found it rather surprising that someone of that age, who professes to be rather an expert on shoes and who freely insults the apparent lack of knowledge of other people on clothing fora, had not realised something as basic as the fact that he had a high instep.

How can he call himself "Shooman", and boast of his collection of shoes and knowledge of shoes, when he doesn't even realise how to get a good fit for his own shoes?

Anyway, back on topic, I wish that Brisbane was having a Herringbone clearance sale too, damnit!

I don't know about Melbourne, but I picked up a PoW check heavily discounted in Sydney last week so assume the sale is still on selected items.

Akshirley it was a SB PoW I thought was cheapish ($695 or so??) but I convinced myself it was jacket only. Can't remember if it had a red line or blue line. Also the only staff in store was a young lady. Is it just me - but I always assume women don't know about mens clothes and fit etc?

popped into the herringbone outlet today, same outlet prices as always (start from $120 a shirt, $70 ties etc...), just some more recent stock than usual, good batch of suits and SC but none in my size

I'm kind of the opposite. Being a young bloke, I like to have a young lady's opinion on my appearance. I know what fits, and I know where to start, but if she's good at her job, she can usually help out here and there and give a final verdict. I've met a couple of really fantastic young lady assistants in Herringbone who actually do know what they're talking about.
