Wow, just found out that the actress that plays Trudy Campbell is in the new NBC comedy Community (which is actually pretty decent). Some random gifs of her (I like the second one

I've been watching Appreciation for a good part of the afternoon. Seeing some skanks in sparkly tops act badly isn't really doing it for me right now.

+1,000,000

I don't care what happens to Betty in Season 4, just as long as we get to see more Trudy and a redux of Joy from Season 2.

For those that might remember, I had asked if anyone recognize this lamp:

Well, I read on Yelp that there was a local shop owner who sourced props and furniture for Mad Men. I went to the place today and talked with the owner.

He said he sold about $15k worth of stuff to the show, most of it for season 1. He said a lot of the Draper home furniture was from the 50's which makes since since season was took place in 62. The owner said he didn't specialize in 50's stuff, but had a lot of contacts to get it.

His most notable items that he sold to the show were the two chairs facing Draper's office desk, and the furniture in Joan's apartment when she played the accordion. Some of the stuff he sold to the show got reupholstered to match other furniture.

As for the lamp, he said it was most likely American made, trying to look like a scandinavian lamp, and there were many similar variations like it, and that $150 would be a decent price for it. He's had many like them before, but non at the time I visited.

Anyway, his shop is in Orange County CA, so stop by if you have the chance. He's an expert on everything in his shop, most of which is from the 60s and 70s. Here is his site:

I think the items he has on his site are his worst selling items, because I remember seeing them there months ago, yet they are still in his store.

I have three of those chairs. Bought them from a vintage shop (for next to nothing) without knowing the Mad Men connection. They could stand to be refurbished.

that is a great store, have bought from there for years. Another shop I think MadMen got clothes and other set props from is PlayClothes in North Hollywood
