^^It helps, I'll probably never commit myself to a full on aesthetic again. Awhile back I believe impolyt said something along the lines of being young and getting away with more ****. So why shouldn't I try to get away with more ****?

And wtf is with newbs bumping year old threads to declare flannels are ******* timeless?

motorcycles are less cool when you realize that you need to wear heavy leathers/armor.

Jeans are really hard to cut. It took Wings+Horns a good 4 seasons or so to get to the current "slim" cut, which is terrific - FW08 had a top block that was a bit too tight, SS09 had a super small hem. You do it to the best your your ability, you ask questions of the fit model, etc... and then you take what you've got, and go back to the drawing board for another try. Jeans are hard even for specialists - early RRL had tons of size grading issues. Japanese repro jeans often have numerous fit issues. There is no excuse for the problems with the Crate collaboration. However. the issues with the Men without a Country jean are not really that significant, though there is room for improvement. There is a lot of talk about it here because it's a focus of some people on the forum right now.

To use a real life example LA Guy, I have a pair of Tim Hamilton jeans which have a waist band that is around 2" too big for the jeans it's on. If I sized down on them the thighs would make the jeans unwearable. Chrono has the same pair, and the exact same problem. I don't think either of us are going to start railing on Tim Hamilton as a dumb ass though, because at the end of the day it's a very minor issue with a very good product.

To be fair, jeans always fit me kinda weird as most wouldn't take me for a size 32 and often i find myself in between sizes. I don't need my jeans to fit "perfect" though. As long as they don't look too tight in the thighs i'm usually cool. The hamilton jeans fit me a lot better these days after i put on 5lbs as my thighs are about the same but my waist is slightly bigger. I don't wear them often enough these days. Probably should break them out soon.

Having said that, (lol cye) i wouldn't wear those collab jeans as them being too tight in the high and having weird ****** stuff puts me off. It happens though. I think so many people get really hyped up about farinellis collabs and projects that when they have problems, they're a bit magnified. Probably better than having a slightly better product no one buys though, right?

But now that there is twice (TWICE!) as much supply, the people who payed the higher price (or felt like they were acquiring something with more value) feel like they've been had. And they have been (I was one of them).

Meanwhile, the people who didn't grab a first run bag will gladly pay $400 for a second run bag.

Look, the bottom line is this: there was a ton of demand for these bags. It's still a limited edition of an iconic bag. Supply is still extremely low--instead of 0.00000003% of the world owning one, it's now 0.00000006%. And the fact that the bags sold out immediately at $400 means Apolis could've probably priced them at $450 and still sold them all.

They sold the first run, saw a bunch of unfulfilled demand, and ordered a second run. You guys are dealing with a business, how else do you expect a business to behave?

Yeah, APC does have a great top block at least, I find the lower leg fit to be a point of contention for me as the New Cure and Cure are always too skinny in the sizes that fit me, and the NS's slightly too wide. I love my worn-in NS's, but they're a completely different fit 2 years down the road than when they were new... I want to make TOJ jeans too (no secret now) and I plan to use some denim nerd knowledge to mitigate a few of my jeans nitpicks.

I agree, even with this second run, there's still only going to be 400 of these bags out there. Still pretty exclusive if you ask me.

I don't get people who buy the same items but in different colors. Buying stuff would be boring and feel like a shopping list. I guess I just don't have anything that perfect yet.

It seems like they could have avoided a lot of the bitching (which I can understand) if they'd done the second run in a different color. With all the discussion originally over whether the bag was black or navy, they could have just released a limited run of 200 navy bags and kept themselves in better standing.
