I'd add your username's ensemble to the good side, along with the Flamin' Groovies, and, as I've said before, Nick Lowe....

You are correct, Sir.

I was just at Starbucks (just for a place to sit and play board games, I swear!), and they had a sampler CD of the major protopunk and new wave bands that are being name dropped here. It is officially as passe to assign any sort of cultural meaning to these bands as it is to the Velvet Underground, The Stooges, Sonic Youth, The Pixies, Pavement, etc. Throw them in the Starbucks bin. Time to dig up some new bands, people.

Thank goodness, it's about freaking time.

Has Bergdorf Goodwill hacked LabelKing's account?

+1 on Bauhaus, a big time plus one.

I'll raise you Afghan Whigs and They Might Be Giants.

I would like to note that I own choice albums of The Fall's catalog on vinyl, 180 gram reissues where possible, not some $4 CD.

I'd say someone who listens to the Residents is definitely open minded, or under heavy barbiturates. Usually if someone listens to music that is obscure or avant garde, their taste is usually pretty good. I don't really know what I'm talking about though.

Another band in The Residents vein is Caroliner. Mink DeVille is also quite good. Also anything produced by Jean Pierre Massiera.

If roxy music's latest album came into top 10 contemporary, would they still be tasteful?
