And for some reason, that same marketing turns seemingly sane people into sniveling lunatics who can't ever seem to get a grip on how silly what they're going on a tirade about is.

They don't seem as silly as Tokyo Slim ranting on it.

Are people running windows 7 yet on Macs?

I loved the gizmodo review of this mouse. They basically said it's a great mouse if you don't care about ergonomics. I'm sure that's what most people are looking for. A mouse with bad ergonomics.

But it's pretty and shiny (until it starts to get dirty and discolor).

You don't like my opinions, don't read them.

I'm just one guy. I'm doing my best to provide balance to the ubiquitous Apple knob slobbering, but I can only do so much.

It's not all unabashed snobbery. I mean I really like some of Apple's products, yet know they have faults, such as some of them are totally ripoffs (ahem...time capsule), and there are hardware issues. But, at the same time there is no perfect Win based-PC either.

Honestly, I like having Apple hardware so I can use Mac OS or Windows, something I cannot do on a PC.

The irony of the situation though, is that if this were any other company's mouse, this thread would not exist, and if it did, nobody would feel obligated to defend it when people point out that it is essentially a gimmick from a company with a poor record of real world functionality with such devices.

I actually like my Time Capsule. (It`s a wireless box and backup hard drive all in one)
I knew they had hardware issues before I bought it, but decided to try it out anyway.
Hopefully the issues were from the earlier models, but we`ll see. If it turns out to be reliable, I think it`s great, but if it dies then it`s only good for the wireless internet.

hmmm...no touch clicking on the new mouse like on track pads? Can`t believe they didn`t integrate this into the new mouse. What a waste.

Yeah, the CTO got our department a Time Capsule at work, and it died after 6 months. I just went out and bought a TerraStation since it's what I got our lab at my old job, and it's still going strong and with a lot more storage space. I really don't understand what Apple has against tactile feedback. They seem to enjoy designing things in a way to remove that; if they try to reinvent food, they'd make it look pretty, but taste like nothing.
