Honestly, my first mouthfull of Uni was almost the first time I've ever reflexively spewed food out of my mouth in a public place.

I love having great eel sushi - but once time I had a skunked piece that was not only pretty nasty in taste, but it also had a disgusting texture.
Uni, on the other hand, is delicious. Creamy texture and subtle sea taste over some rice and wrapped in seaweed - awesome.

Is this worst single food item or worst dish or worst event?
The only thing that comes to mind is one time I ordered some Thai take out and requested it to be a 2 on a scale of 1 to 5 for spiciness. Either they spilled the whole container of spice in it on accident, or gave me the wrong food, because it was so spicy I couldn't taste anything else. Had to throw it out.

The only food my throat refused to swallow was canned Gefilte Fish.
I can eat almost anything, including octopus grilled in a trash can (in Greece) and dog and chive dumplings (in Denver, of all places), but I can't stomach gefilte fish.
