+1. A lot of folks go through this stage in early adulthood, not getting along with parents.... and I know a lot of people who went through this finding their way back to their folks when they grow old and are in equal footing now that they're adults. I hope you won't burn bridges with your parents, no matter how hard it is to deal with them.

sorry - you don't get off that easiy. what does "we've never really gotten along" mean? they don't understand you? tough. they want you to do things that you don't think you should? hey, they pay your bills, you should do whatever they want (unless it involves ********** with them). they are disappointed in you and make that clear? maybe, or maybe they just want you to try to reach yor potential and have trouble communicating that with you. they are too self abosorbed and don't pay attention to you? well, sorry about that, but that still isn't a good enough reason to cut off ties.

anyway, good luck to you

Please. Dust-ups between parents and their teenage children are more common than balls on GQgeek's chin.

Yes, it is common. That doesn't mean that "every kid JB's age in America" wants to move away from their parents and never have contact with them again.

I think he's overreacting, but who knows.

A good chunk of the people in my condo. If your condo is in good financial shape, and there are pretty competent people running the show already, just stay the hell out of it. Being a Director sucks. Being on committees sucks. It all sucks.

I can't believe these people are fighting the notion of letting kids play on the grass! Fucked up. I'm afraid I may call someone a bad name tonight at the meeting.

I don't know who you are to comment on whether or not I am "overreacting". This coming from someone who cries hysterically every time Tina walks off stage.

He's probably getting all mist-eyed just reading that.

JB: I agree with Globe....try to keep a line of communication open. As a parent, it is painful to think that a child would ever want to sever the relationship. It is actually painful for me to imagine.

Indeed! I mean, come on. Watch this killer rendition of "Let's Stay Together" from last Thursday's show and see if you can keep those eyes dry.

So the WAYWT discussion thread is just turning into the old WAYWT thread. Stoopid.

Exactly. It solves nothing, especially since people are still posting comments in the original thread.
